Transparency

Privacy also means having less to disclose. We do not keep chat histories, contact lists or activity logs. We do retain the technical device records and temporary encrypted messages described below, so we do not claim to hold nothing.

What we have

• Device IDs and public keys.
• A hash of each device's routing code, so that only its contacts can reach it.
• Push tokens, encrypted.
• Messages waiting in a mailbox, encrypted end to end: we cannot read them, and they disappear after 7 days at the latest.

What we do not have

Conversations, circles or their members, contacts, address books, call history, names, phone numbers, emails, activity logs or histories of IP addresses.

If you write to us, we process what you choose to send, as described in the privacy policy.

Requests from authorities

We answer only valid legal requests, and only with the data above. There is no backdoor in the app or on the server.
